Lilith Film Collective presents
Break
a film about identity, loss, sex, death, and acceptance
Break explores what happens when the identity we've constructed begins to unravel under pressure.
Our journey began in Utica, NY, the hometown of the filmmaker, where we embarked on a mission to tell a compelling story of one woman's struggle with identity, loss, and self-discovery.
Break is a moving film about three estranged friends who reunite in upstate New York for the funeral of Luke’s brother, staying at Jessica’s childhood home. Jessica, a Taiwanese-American searching for identity, is pulled into her past, while Zara and Luke, carry their own tensions. As grief and desire collide, buried conflicts resurface, and Jessica’s reckless need for validation fractures their fragile bond, exposing deeper truths about identity, intimacy and self-worth.
